Freshly emerged male

General Species Information

Host Plant: Eucalyptus sps

Historical Range:  South Florida and the Caribbean

Our Experience with this Species: We have found this species on Key Largo, Big Pine Key and No Name Key in the following months; Jan, May, Jun, Oct, Dec

Notes:  This beautiful species has been uncommon during our time surveying. I recall a day in February of 1999 when I found 10 freshly emerged individuals hanging on the wall of a gass station in Tavernier. That number would be more than I would ever see combined in the rest of our project. Upon frequent returns to the same location in the same time of year, we never saw another individual at that location.
