Description: 13-17 mm. Orange yellow in color with brown markings on top. Ventral side is golden orange with small, faint yellow spots on hindwing

 

Habitat and Distribution: Rockland grassy habitats of Big Pine Key and Sugarloaf Key.

 

Host Plant: unknown in the Keys

 

Natural History: This species has not been confirmed in the Keys since 1985. Prior to that, there were healthy colonies on Big Pine Key.
