    Panoquina ocola, Ocola Skipper

    Freshly emerged adult

    Description: 14-18 mm. a small brown skipper with a small spots on underside hindwing. Fresh individuals can have a lavender sheen on the ventral side

     

    Habitat and Distribution: vacant lots, marshes in most of  Florida

     

    Host Plant: aquatic grasses 

     

    Natural History: While a few specimens have been reported from the upper  Keys in June, September, October and December. This species is not frequently encountered and its possible that the specimens encountered were strays
