Description: 15-19 mm. This is a medium sized skipper that is variable in its patterns. It is brown in color with small white spots on forewings. Fresh males have a pale hindwing fringe. Adults perch with their wings outspread.

Habitat and Distribution: This species is uncommon in the Keys. It can be found in the lower Keys in all months of the year along weedy fields and roadsides where its host plant grows. Adults enjoy visiting bidens alba for nectar

    Host Plant: Sesbania macrocarpa

Natural History: It is suspected that E. zarucco in the Southern Keys is more closely related to the population in Cuba rather than that of the Florida mainland.
