Description: 16-19 mm. Outer margin wing shape is more rounded than others species closely related. Known for brown ventral side with a pale yellow steak. Dorsal side is bright orange with thick dark brown margins. Males have a thin stigma.

 

Habitat and Distribution: Swamps and salt marhes along the Southeast coast of the United States. 

 

Host Plant: grass Spartina alterniflora

 

Natural History: only unconfirmed reports from the Keys
